Hasty love, soon cold．爱得快，冷得快。
谚语中的Hasty love是主语，soon cold是主语补足语，中间省略了动词is，用上一个逗号以示停顿，并加强语势。
谚语的意思是爱得太快、太匆促，单看外表，不了解品德性情，所以往往以失败告终。关于这意思的谚语很多：
Love not at the first look．
不要一见钟情。
这就是中国谚语“一见倾心”或“一见钟情”，这种只看一下外表的爱情是不巩固的，所以说：
