Time is money．光阴就是金钱。
说“光阴就是金钱”就是说Time is as valuable as money。现在把as valuable as省去了，句子更加简洁有力。
十八世纪美国政治家和科学家Benjamin Franklin在《致青年商人书》中写道：“Remember，time is money.”从此，这句话便广泛流传于美国企业家与商人之间，并逐步传到世界各国，成为国际性成语。
光阴其实也是生命，但人们都知道生命的可贵，往往忽视了光阴。另有一句谚语就是把光阴与生命联系起来：
To save time is to lengthen life．
节约时间就是延长生命。
中国有句谚语“一寸光阴一寸金”与这条英文谚语相同，而且更加具体到可以测量，有时还接下一句“寸金难买寸光阴”，那就是Time is much more valuable than money。
因为光阴可贵，所以要守时，否则就是浪费了别人的时间。下一句就是说守时的重要：
Punctuality is the soul of business．
守时是立业之本。
